Our Instructors and Staff

Our Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the art of Tang Soo Do, Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other martial arts and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors.

Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students.

Tang Soo Do Staff


Mathew Sangiorge is a 2nd Degree Black Belt with Pooler Karate. He assists with the Special Kicks classes, as well as the other classes offered here.

Matthew Sangiorge is our chief instructor here at Pooler Karate. He has reached the rank of 2nd Degree in American Tang Soo Do and is also a certified Krav Maga instructor. Mr. Sangiorge has been with school since the beginning. He started training with Master Fortner at the age of 4. His leadership has helped shape many of the students here.


Mr. Marsh is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Tang Soo Do. He is extremely talented with weapons and forms. He always has a great attitude and loves working with our kids and adults. Mr. Marsh is also a recorded artist in Nashville, TN.


Mr. Joe has been involved with Martial Arts for over 30 Years. He is a veteran Black Belt and has shown great leadership since the day he showed up with his son Garrett and his loving wife Victoria. He is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Tang Soo Do.


Ms. Alana is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Tang Soo Do. She has been training under Mr. Fortner since 2012. She helps instruct White Belt class, Green/Black, Black Belt Club and Fight Night. She is currently working towards her goal to be a 3rd Degree Black Belt.


Mrs. Victoria is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Tang Soo Do. She assists in instructing our Lil’ Ninjas program and has a great passion for kids! Mrs. Victoria is Mr. Joe’s wife! They have a son named Garrett that is also a black belt in our school.


Mr. Robert is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Tang Soo Do and is testing for his 2nd Degree in June. Mr. Robert assists with advanced Jr. classes and has graciously dedicated himself to the Adult Tang Soo Do program. His daughter Italia is also ablack belt in our school.


John is a 1st Degree Black Belt in American Tang Soo Do. He helps assist Jr. and Adult classes.

Krav Maga Staff


David Clifton is Pooler Krav Magas newest Black Belt Instructor. His two sons DJ and Jessie are students in our school working towards their black belts in American Tang Soo Do.


A Native of Deerfield, NH. Joe Bouchard entered the United States Army on 7 November 2000, attending One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Ga as an Infantryman, and immediately following attended the United States Army Airborne School, and the 75th Ranger Regiments Ranger Indoctrination Program earning the right to wear the beret.

Millie is the Sister of  Carson. She is a level 1 certified Krav Maga Instructor. She is currently a Blue Belt and working toward her goal to become a Black Belt in Krav Maga. Millie is also part of the office staff here at Pooler Karate. She has a passion for special needs students and loves being a part of our Special Kicks program. She is also an artist! Millie has a BA in Studio Art with a minor in Sociology from Georgia Southern University.

 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Staff


Jerry Greene is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and teaches the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Classes.

Office Staff


Stacey is the Program Director at Pooler Karate. She is usually the first person you see as you walk into the school with a huge smile on her face. Stacey Galvan is a loving mother of 2 amazing Blackbelts at Pooler Karate.


Jabari is the greeter of Pooler Karate. He opens the door as our students and families come in and out the door all day long. Jabari also helps clean the school each day to keep things looking nice at our school!
